  Our Pup is Home

Our puppy, Cabella, arrived home Monday evening. She's been doing so wonderful. She has spurts of energy and rest. She has already been to the vet and was said to be a healthy puppy. We're now able to take her to meet friends and family and other dogs that we know have been vaccinated. Now is the time for us to get the puppy socialized and used to being outdoors and around other people and dogs. I also plan to take the dog out shooting with me this weekend as now is also the time to get her used to loud gun blasts as well. She is a beautiful puppy and we are so glad to finally have her home.

  New Cabella Picture

Late last night we got a couple of e-mails from the breeder of Cabella. It sounds like we will most likely be getting the puppy this Sunday. She did provide this new picture and said that she would recommend the pup on the left. Black Female Labs She said that although the pup on the left is a little bigger than the pup on the right, she said that it is more reserved, has a sweet nature and never picks on the other puppies. She also said, "When they all broke out of the enclosure she ran around the room a lap and then went and snuggled in with my old girl Cocoa. Very sweet dog." So for now, we're thinking that Cabella will be the pup you see on the left (in her right hand). Our breeder will probably be sending us more pictures of the pups and that will help us decide for sure. All of the pups from this litter have sold out. There were nine puppies in the litter. The litter had three white males, two white females, two black males and two black females. If you can't tell by now we are very excited.

  Our Home Cleaner

Clara learns so quickly! This weekend, while at grandma and grandpa's, Clara learned to clean the floors. I can really get used to this if our children would always be so willing to clean up around the house. Let's see I think next weekend I will teach her how to wash the dishes and do some laundry.

Now that we will be having a pup in our house starting next weekend, there will be no shortage of floor cleaning to do. Maybe we could even start charging for her service. After all, who wouldn't want someone this cute around to do a little cleaning.

  Cabella Will Be Here Soon

We thought coming up with a name for our daughter was difficult, it took us forever to come up with a name for our new pup. After visiting the Cabela's store in Hamburg, PA, we stumbled upon the name that we felt would fit our new puppy perfectly, Cabella.

We're getting our new pup either this Friday or Saturday, and we are very excited. She is a black Labrador retriever and we will be getting her at just seven weeks of age. This is the opportune time to get the puppy as this is when Labrador puppies begin to develop their companionship with humans (specifically at 49 days of age).

We get to pick one of these two pups (both black females), the decision is not easy and I have to force myself to only pick one...

  Nintendo Wii For Sale

wiiforsale So I have finally made the difficult decision of selling one of my "next generation" game consoles. I think this is a testament to my gaming style. I have found that I am more of a graphic intense gamer and the Nintendo Wii just does not cut it without support for high definition.

Before the Wii was even released I thought it was a mistake for Nintendo to not support high definition. This was even before I owned a high definition television and did not even have plans on owning a high definition television at the time. Now that I do own a high definition television, the XBOX 360 and the PS3, my Nintendo Wii is collecting dust and is being neglected from use that another gamer would surely be able to give it.

I am not doubting that there may be instances where I will miss the Wii and there may even be games that get released that make me wish I had not sold it. However, the Wii has been in my home for a long time now and I have yet to find a game that will occupy hours and hours of my time. The Wii is a great console for the party style gamer that wants to have a little console gaming fun with his or her not so console style gamer friends. Yes, that means moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas. But seriously, how often will they be willing to strap on their Wii (that just doesn't sound right) and get their gaming on?

I will be posting the Wii on my work classifieds and see if it gets any traction there first. If you read this and are interested in hearing the price and what I have to offer with the console, just drop me a comment.

  Welcome Back...

It's been a long time since I last wrote on Inklings and Impressions. It's really been too long. I have been tied up in all of the other mediums of web publishing that is available on the internet and in the process Inklings and Impressions has been neglected. Expect to see more blog posts as my attention has been turned back to my web site. The best is yet to come.
