  Another Merry Christmas

So my wife once again spoiled me rotten this Christmas. To my complete surprise, I received my top gift from my wish list (see last post). Sorry PS3 peeps, this year I got the Wii and have been having a blast with it. I downloaded the Opera based browser demo for it and after a bit of connection troubles that seems to be up and running great. It's nice to surf the web on your television with a motion controlled wiimote.

My wife also pleasantly surprised me with a Toshiba Gigabeat. She got a great deal on a refurbished F40 model. It's already got my entire (and growing) music collection on it.

On the games side of things, I got Call of Duty 3 for the XBox 360 and Zelda for the Wii (would you expect anything else?).

I hope your Christmas was as blessed as our families and that the coming new year brings the best of luck, health and fortune. I wish you a Merry Christmas from Inklings and Impressions.

Thomson Black Diamond A Jewel To Behold

I caught my eye on a beautiful looking MP3 player. The Thomson Black Diamond has a gorgeous design. Although I have not had the pleasure to view its user interface, if it is anything like the device design then it would take tops in my picks for an mp3 player. While stopping in at Best Buy yesterday to get a first look at the Zune, I was disappointed to find both models flashing a dead battery sign, even though they were both plugged in. After about five minutes with some Best Buy employees trying to get the thing on for me, I told them I'd come back another time. I'm sure if I came back today they'd be in the same state. So my mind has been on portable mp3/photo/video players as of late, when yesterday this little treasure caught my eye. Check it out for yourself, and if you ever come across a black diamond (like this one) let me know about it.

New iPAQ Packs A Ton of Style

The upcoming HP iPAQ rx4540 is a killer looking pocket device. It sports the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system and has a new form factor from your standard pocket pc, as there are no buttons on the front. This would make a great portable media device with the extra features that come with Windows Mobile 5.0. Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi built in make this very appealing. Input to this device comes with a pen, buttons on the side and a great scroll wheel that also acts as a button.
